Dec’15 Blog

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right, it’s Christmas time with shiny ornaments, big trees in the house and big boxes under the tree. There’s a lot that dogs and cats can get into. It’s also a time for more food to enjoy around the table. If you have dogs, make sure anything that falls off the dinner plate can’t harm them. Cooked chicken bones and turkey bones, turkey skin and gravy, garlic and onions, and stuffing are all side dishes we love but can cause illness to dogs. Let’s also not forget about our feline friends’ safety!

Those pesky Christmas trees we love to decorate can also be dangerous to cats. The tinsel can get tangled around their legs or neck if they try to climb the tree. The bulbs on the tree, if they are glass can shatter or fall on the cat and cause injury. If you have a cat that is just addicted to disturbing the real tree, maybe a fake tree is a better alternative. These are just a few helpful tips to keep in mind this holiday season.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
